Backend Engineer

Location: Remote (LATAM)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: USD $4,000–6,000/month

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join a growing technology company building a decision-intelligence platform for the wealth management industry.

In this role, you will help scale the backend infrastructure by developing critical integrations, designing secure and scalable APIs, and improving system reliability. You'll collaborate closely with frontend, platform, and AI teams while contributing to the architecture of a production platform serving thousands of users.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations with custodial platforms, CRM systems, and financial data providers.
• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs.
• Build monitoring dashboards and implement proactive issue detection.
• Optimize relational and non-relational database performance and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with frontend, platform, and AI teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Contribute to backend architecture, scalability, and engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve platform reliability.

Must Have

• 5+ years of experience building web applications and APIs using Django.
• 2+ years of experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• 2+ years of experience with AWS services, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (Redis and Elasticsearch).
• Fluent Spanish and professional working proficiency in English.
• Experience supporting a production product used by 1,000+ users or companies.

Nice to Have

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Kibana, Grafana, or Power BI.
• Experience documenting technical requirements using Confluence or Notion.
• Previous experience working at a product-focused software company.
