Work Model: Hybrid
About the Company
Our client is a fintech company building internet-native infrastructure for debt capital markets.
Its platform replaces traditional trust and agency providers with software that verifies assets, enforces credit agreements, and automates cash flows in real time. By replacing manual processes, spreadsheets, and slow settlement cycles with automated systems, the company helps lenders and borrowers move capital faster, more safely, and at lower cost. Backed by a recent $20M Series A, the company is expanding into the U.S. market and growing its engineering team.
About the Role
We’re looking for a mid-senior DevOps Engineer to implement improvements across deployment pipelines, infrastructure, observability, and developer experience.
You will own the infrastructure roadmap, lead incident response, and work hands-on to modernize the company’s systems. The goal is to reduce operational friction while enabling the engineering team to ship quickly and safely.
This is a high-ownership role in a platform where reliability and security matter: the systems you run support real financial operations for institutional clients.
What You’ll Do
- Own and drive the infrastructure roadmap, setting priorities for modernization and reliability.
- Modernize CI/CD and deployment workflows to streamline build, test, and deploy processes.
- Manage and evolve AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Build and maintain Docker-based container workflows.
- Lead incident response, including root-cause analysis and follow-up improvements.
- Improve observability through monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Improve developer experience so engineers can ship faster with fewer operational blockers.
- Partner closely with the engineering team to balance speed, stability, and security.
Must Have
- Mid-senior experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or a comparable infrastructure role.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps platforms and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Strong AWS infrastructure expertise in production environments.
- Experience with Docker and container-based workflows.
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation).
- Experience participating in or leading incident response.
- Based in Madrid, elsewhere in Europe, or on the US East Coast, with the right to work there.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Prometheus.
- Background in fintech, banking, or other regulated environments.
- Experience in a fast-growing startup.
- Spanish language skills.
Soft Skills
- Strong ownership and initiative in shaping the infrastructure roadmap.
- Calm, structured judgment under pressure during incidents.
- Clear communication with engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Pragmatism in modernizing systems without disrupting operations.
- An enabling mindset: helping the team ship, not acting as a gatekeeper.
Interview Process
-
Culture & Fit Interviews — Two 30–45 minute conversations, each with one engineer.
-
Take-Home Exercise — A practical exercise designed to take 2–4 hours at most.
-
Technical Interviews — Two technical interviews, each with two engineers.
