An early-stage technology startup building the advertising infrastructure layer for the next generation of AI-native consumer entertainment experiences. The company develops large-scale recommendation and personalization systems that process millions of daily interactions to deliver highly relevant user experiences in real time.

Challenge

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to own the development of the recommendation engine responsible for deciding, in real time, which experience reaches which user.

During the first few months, the primary focus will be designing the data architecture, feature pipelines, and production infrastructure required to launch the first MVP recommendation engine. As the platform matures, the role will shift toward more advanced machine learning, ranking optimization, and large-scale personalization challenges.

You will:

• Design and deploy low-latency recommendation systems (retrieval, ranking, and reranking)
• Build scalable data pipelines and feature engineering systems for continuous model training
• Develop behavioral user representations using interaction history, session context, device, and geographic signals
• Design production inference infrastructure optimized for scalability, reliability, and low latency
• Solve complex optimization challenges, including:
• Cold-start prediction
• Delayed reward optimization
• Fatigue modeling
• Multi-objective ranking optimization
• Continuously improve the production Machine Learning infrastructure

Must Have

• 0–6 years of Machine Learning Engineering experience (exceptional new graduates are welcome)
• Experience shipping at least one Machine Learning system to production
• Strong experience with: Data architecture, Data pipelines, Feature engineering, Model serving/inference infrastructure
• Strong backend engineering combined with Machine Learning experience
• Experience building scalable production ML systems
• Knowledge of performance optimization, scalability, and low-latency systems
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with recommendation systems
• Experience with ranking systems
• Experience in AdTech or advertising optimization
• Experience at consumer technology companies
• Strong PyTorch experience
• Experience building real-time personalization systems
• Interest in AI-native products and interactive entertainment
