The company is growing rapidly and expanding its data infrastructure capabilities to ensure reliability, consistency, and trust across all customer-facing systems.
Challenge
We are looking for a Data Integration Engineer to own the accuracy and reliability of customer data flowing through the platform.
This role sits at the intersection of Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, and Technical Success, with responsibility for onboarding new integrations, managing provider migrations, reconciling financial data, and investigating production issues affecting customer records.
The ideal candidate will become the go-to person whenever customer data appears incorrect, tracing issues across APIs, ingestion pipelines, mappings, databases, and downstream systems to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own onboarding of new integrations and provider migrations while preventing duplicate entity creation.
- Build and maintain reconciliation processes between source systems and platform data.
- Monitor cross-service consistency and proactively identify synchronization issues or ingestion failures.
- Investigate customer-reported data discrepancies and identify root causes across source systems, pipelines, storage layers, and synchronization processes.
- Improve reliability, consistency, and performance of ingestion pipelines and data workflows.
- Define and maintain data quality rules and monitoring alerts.
- Document root causes, fixes, and preventive measures for recurring issues.
- Collaborate with Support, Customer Success, and Engineering teams to resolve data issues efficiently.
Must Have
- 3+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering, Backend Engineering, Integration Engineering, or similar roles.
- Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL or data ingestion pipelines in Python.
- Hands-on experience with Django.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and external data providers.
- Experience investigating and resolving production data issues across source systems, pipelines, mappings, storage, and synchronization layers.
- Ability to read, understand, and modify backend Python code.
- Understanding of data consistency concepts and distributed data systems.
- Understanding of systems of record and downstream or derived services.
- Experience working with meaningful production data volumes.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in SaaS environments.
- Experience in fintech, wealth management, or financial services.
- Familiarity with portfolios, holdings, securities, transactions, and financial market data.
- Experience with custodial feeds, CRM integrations, or market data providers.
- Experience leading provider migrations and deduplication initiatives.
- Experience with NoSQL, columnar, or time-series databases.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and data quality tooling.
Soft Skills
- Strong ownership mentality and accountability for outcomes.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause investigation skills.
- Ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- High attention to detail and focus on data accuracy.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and prioritizing effectively.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a strong focus on reliability and trust.
- Advanced English communication skills for collaboration in an international environment.
Benefits
- Fully remote position across LATAM.
- Competitive compensation ranging from USD $4,000 to $5,000 per month.
- Opportunity to join a growing Series A fintech company.
- High ownership and direct impact on core platform reliability.
- Exposure to large-scale financial data systems and integrations.
- Small team environment with close collaboration across Engineering and Customer Success.
- Long-term growth opportunities within the company.
