About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on System Engineer to support day-to-day systems engineering across on-premises infrastructure, VMware virtualization, storage, Windows/Linux environments, and unified communications platforms.

The Challenge
You’ll be responsible for keeping critical infrastructure running smoothly across:
- VMware virtualization environments
- Physical servers and data center infrastructure
- SAN storage
- Windows and Linux systems
- Enterprise voice and call center platforms
- Hybrid infrastructure and virtual networking
The role requires someone who is comfortable being hands-on, troubleshooting issues, performing system administration, and working closely with networking and other technical teams.
Must Have
-
4–6 years of IT systems engineering experience in a production environment
-
3+ years of hands-on VMware experience, including ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter
- VMware configuration, administration, troubleshooting, cluster operations, and patch lifecycle
-
VMware Horizon VDI experience, including gold image management, session performance, and user environment management
- Experience with physical server build-out and integration with network and storage infrastructure
-
SAN storage administration, including provisioning, LUN management, and performance monitoring
- Familiarity with capacity planning and storage performance
-
Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
-
Linux administration (Debian or RHEL/CentOS), with comfort at the command line
-
PowerShell scripting for Windows automation and systems management
-
Bash scripting for Linux task automation
- Working understanding of VLANs, switching, and VMware virtual networking
- Basic TCP/IP, DNS, and firewall concepts
- Prior exposure to enterprise voice or call center infrastructure (Avaya, Verint, or equivalent)
- Experience with Avaya telephony platform administration — Communication Manager, IP Office, or Aura preferred
Nice to Have
-
Ansible or similar configuration management tools
- Avaya Session Manager
- Avaya Media Gateways
- Avaya IX Contact Center
- Deeper experience with data center operations, including power, cooling, and rack-and-stack practices
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
-
Hands-on and comfortable troubleshooting production systems
- Strong in systems administration and infrastructure operations
- Comfortable working across both Windows and Linux
- Experienced with VMware environments
- Practical and execution-oriented
- Comfortable working in hybrid/on-premises infrastructure
- Able to collaborate with networking and other technical teams without needing to be an architect or team lead
