Location: San Francisco, CA (100% In-person, 5 days a week)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range (OTE): $240,000 – $300,000 per year

End-to-end AI Search Presence (AEO/GEO) platform that helps brands take control of how they appear in the AI era. As AI replaces traditional search, AthenaHQ provides the command center for marketing teams to track, optimize, and win visibility across ChatGPT,

Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and Grok.

● Traction: Hit $2.5M ARR in just 14 months; targeting $10M this year.

● Funding: Raising a Series A in the coming months.

● Customers: Leading brands such as Coinbase, Twilio, ZoomInfo, SoFi, Oura Ring, and PagerDuty.

● Team: Founded by a former Google Search PM, with experts from Meta, Vercel, and MIT.


The Role

As our third sales hire, you will own the entire sales cycle—from outbound prospecting to closing mid-market and enterprise accounts. This is a rare opportunity to join a high-growth startup where the current AEs are each on track to earn over $300K this year. You will work directly with the founders to shape our GTM strategy and build the sales playbook.


What You’ll Own:

● Identify, prospect, and close deals with ACVs ranging from $10,000 to $80,000.

● Own an annual revenue target of $1.2M to $1.5M ARR.

● Manage a fast-paced full-cycle process with an average sales cycle of 6 to 10 weeks.

● Collaborate on messaging, positioning, and scalable sales tooling.

● Provide direct customer feedback to influence the product roadmap.


Sales Context

● Average Contract Value: ~$25,000.

● Pipeline Mix: 70% Inbound / 30% Outbound.

● Ramp Period: 2 months.

● Commission: Uncapped.


Requirements


Must-Have:


● Execution: 2+ years of full-cycle SaaS sales experience.

● Proven Closer: Experience closing deals in the $10k–$80k range in a competitive environment.

● Mindset: Scrappy, self-directed, and thrives without a fully built playbook.

● Communication: Comfortable selling to CMOs, marketing leaders, and enterprise buyers.

● Location: Must be based in San Francisco and willing to work in-person 5 days a week.


Nice-to-Have:



● Prior experience in MarTech, SEO, or B2B SaaS selling to marketing teams.

● Familiarity with AI search, GEO, or content marketing tools.

● Early sales hire experience at a high-growth startup.
