The Challenge

We are looking for an RL Engineer to develop Reinforcement Learning environments and AI agents used in real-world applications.

This will be the company's first engineering hire, with direct involvement in architecture decisions, product development, and the evolution of the technical platform.

Key responsibilities:

• Build Reinforcement Learning environments using proprietary datasets
• Develop and deploy AI agents for enterprise customers
• Create evaluation and training systems for AI models
• Contribute to technical decisions and architecture design
• Support the growth of the engineering function as the company scales

Must Have

• 3 to 7 years of Software Engineering experience
• Professional experience with Reinforcement Learning (RL)
• Professional experience developing AI Agents or AI-powered applications
• Experience working at AI, Human Data, Data Labeling, or AI Training companies

Desired Skills

• Experience with RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback)
• Experience building training environments for AI models
• Knowledge of LLMs and agentic workflows
• Experience with TypeScript
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with React Native or Swift
• Experience in early-stage startups
• Experience at companies such as Scale AI, Surge AI, Mercor, Turing, or similar organizations
• Familiarity with AI-native tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar
