Founding Product Designer

Job Overview

Join our innovative team in Berlin, or remotely from New York or San Francisco, as a Founding Product Designer in a YC-backed AI video production startup. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering to create intuitive interfaces for AI-powered animation tools, making professional animation creation accessible and efficient. You will design AI-native interfaces that hide complexity while providing users control when needed. Your expertise in conducting user interviews, usability tests, and validating design decisions will be paramount. You will own the full design lifecycle, from concepts and prototypes to pixel-perfect execution, and drive growth through design improvements and conversion experiments. With over three years of product design experience and a strong ability to craft intuitive interfaces for complex products, you will work directly with founders to influence the product's design direction. Your background should include experience with web applications or creative tools and strong prototyping and visual design skills. Responsibilities

• Partner closely with engineering to design intuitive experiences that make AI-powered animation creation accessible to everyone.
• Design AI-native interfaces that balance simplicity with power by hiding complexity while giving users control when they need it.
• Conduct user interviews and usability tests to identify product opportunities and validate design decisions.
• Own the full design lifecycle from concept to launch, including prototypes, design systems, and pixel-perfect execution.
• Drive growth through product design improvements, onboarding optimization, and conversion experiments.
• Shape go-to-market messaging and product visuals that resonate with creators and video teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of professional product design experience.
• Prior experience designing web applications or creative software tools.
• Strong ability to design intuitive interfaces for complex products.
• Strong prototyping and visual design skills for complex product interfaces.
• Ability to collaborate closely with engineers in a fast-moving environment.
• Portfolio Required: Must demonstrate complex workflows and iterative product design.
• Bonus: Experience at a high-growth startup or elite technology company.

• Salary: €80,000 - €130,000 per year
